Emergencies can happen to anyone anywhere. This is why it’s important to always be prepared and have a sound mind when you are placed in a life-threatening situation.
Flying To Wisconsin
A crew of three was flying 53 rescue dogs from Louisiana to Wisconsin to help them find homes with loving families.
Worrisome Situation
The plane was just four miles from landing at the Waukesha County Airport when the large twin-engine aircraft started crashing into a golf course in Pewaukee.
Big Damage
The aircraft dove into a stand of trees, causing its wings to be sheared off.
Everyone’s Safe
The three people aboard the plane managed to get out of the wreckage and were all hospitalized after the rescue team came.
The Dogs Were Safe Too
The dogs, on the other hand, sustained injuries, but none of them were life-threatening, and everyone luckily survived the crash.
Skilled Pilots
Assistant Chief Matthew Haerter with Lake Country Fire and Rescue commended the skilled crew for being able to pull off an emergency landing. He said, “The pilot and his copilot did an amazing job getting this aircraft on the ground the way that they did.”
Up For Adoption
Because of everyone’s quick response, the dogs were able to receive medical care, and eventually were taken in by the shelters they were destined for, and now some of them are already up for adoption.
The Cause And Aftermath
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are still investigating the cause of the crash that resulted in approximately 300 gallons of jet fuel spilling onto the golf course.
