From Four Hours To Seven Days

It was only supposed to be a 4-hour drive, but it took him seven days and a medical chopper to get through the highway.

He Checked The Weather

Before leaving the house, Jerry checked the weather and thought he could beat the approaching snowstorm, but he was wrong. On the road, he got his car stuck and that’s when the blizzard hit.

How He Survived

For seven days, Jerry conserved his car’s battery and fuel by only turning it on for a short period of time for heating and kept himself warm with a windbreaker, quilt, and bath towel.

His Food

He divided the snacks that he had with him in the SUV – including croissants, candy, and biscotti – so they would last for a few days.

Staying Hydrated

Jerry would then open the window to get some ice as a water source, and that’s how he managed to survive until rescue came.

Help Arrived

Eventually, when the snowstorm subsided, a chopper searched the area and initially mistook Jerry’s SUV as a big rock, but after they circled back, they saw Jerry waving his hand from the car window.

When they got him out of his SUV, the rescuers took Jerry to the hospital. He was cleared a few hours later after seeing no injuries or signs of hypothermia.
