Complicated Pregnancy
PexelsOdin’s mom suffered preeclampsia when she was pregnant with him. Preeclampsia is high b***d pressure (hypertension) disorder that can occur during pregnancy.
Critical Condition
PexelsThe doctors had to induce emergency labor which turned out to be difficult and Odin came out “barely, barely breathing” so he had to be airlifted to a NICU in Dallas where he got confined for two weeks.
A Similar Story
YouTube, CBSDFWWhen he was 3 years old, Odin met another kid named Jordan Granberry at Boshears School in Tyler who also has the same condition as his.
Jordan’s Situation
PexelsJordan also didn’t get enough oxygen when he was born which also led to brain damage, and his mom said that he might not make it to age 7.
A Wonderful Friendship
YouTube, CBSDFWWhen they became friends in preschool, Jordan and Odin became inseparable then. They achieved milestones together, and even graduated high school together!
Defying The Odds
Instagram, allthingsfrostDonna, Jordan’s mom, said, “As they get older and we’re not here then we want to make sure they’ll continue to look out for one another and be in each other’s lives. No matter what happens, we’re going to do our best to make sure of it. Jordan will be looking out for Odin and Odin will be looking out for Jordan, I have no doubt about that.”
