Little Loralie had a frightening journey alone in foster care until the light at the end of the tunnel came. She said, “I didn’t really know what to do. So I thought, ‘Well, what should I do? Is there anyone waiting for me?’ I was really scared. Until I met my mom. My second-grade teacher.”

Initially, adoption was nowhere on Zoe’s mind when she met Loralie, but she admits that she could immediately tell that she was a special girl, and when saw her for the first time, she said that she knew she was going to be her daughter.

Zoe was worried that someone was going to adopt Loralie, but thankfully, when she reached out to the adoption agency, she found out that it was still possible for her to be adopted, so two days later, Loralie was already able to come home with her.

It took them two years before the adoption was made official because of the pandemic, but what’s important for them was they are now officially a family.

Loralie’s adoption day happened virtually, but they were still able to celebrate the special day with their families and friends.
