I’m curious as to how being called a jerk, which you are, is a gender based slur?

NTA. It is YOUR day, not theirs. They will regret it for the rest of their lives if they missed your wedding. I love the idea of you both saying your vows in English & Spanish. Go back & forth. It shows both sides of the family that you are both making the effort to combine your families .

NTA. This wedding is about you & your fiancée. Not about your parents. I feel this is actually a smart move. You are showing his family that you are making an effort to learn their culture & language. By him reading his in English, he is showing your family how he is willing to do the same. They should actually appreciate this effort from both of you. DO NOT GIVE AN INCH. They will regret not being there for their daughters wedding.
