He said she deleted the notifications of the missed calls and I don't always notice when I 've accidently put my phone on DND, much less checking to make sure no one else has. As to not calling his wife maybe he was being polite and not using his phone during a meal (which is what one should do) and figured if there was an emergency she would call.
Heck Riverdale is on Network over the air TV - don't even need Netflix or even cable to watch it anyhow (depending on the area - I get the CW with my TV's built in antenna) - you can also watch it on the CW website.
