Assume I'm Not A Good Crafter? Think Again
3 years ago
When I lost my right ankle and foot last year due to an infection, I came home in a wheelchair. My buddy wanted to help me all the time, pushing my wheelchair, coming over to see what he could do. It got to the point where he was more hinderance than help. I finally had to tell him I could do it on my own and had to learn. I had to straight tell him to back off, that I was disabled, not an invalid, I lost my leg but not my mind.
Not me but a friend. Now friend was a mechanic in this shop. Every day one of the other mechanics there, older and been thete longer, used to come in and flat out punch this poor mechanic in the shoulder HARD! Young mechanic did all the right stuff, made complaints, wrote it up went to management, nothing was done. So one morning, young mech comes in, tapes an 1-1/4 wrench to his arm and puts his coveralls on. Sure enough, this older mech comes in, punches young mech and breaks all the fingers in his hand. Was out for months.
I had a good friend that was despondent over his brother's death. I was living with him and his g/f and her daughter. Now he inherited his brother's truck but it needed work. I told him I would work on it for free.in return for a job. So I get the truck ready for a safety and he has found work for it. He would do 2 trips a day and I would 2 at night. Along comes spring break-up and there isn't enough work for both of us. Cool, I said, I'll find work and come back when spring break-up is over. Go back and find out he had given his buddy my job because I was single and his buddy had kids.
I drive truck for a living and was going down a long hill in the mountains. My load was popcans, very light. A Mustang was tailgating me so close I couldn't see his headlights, just a glow under my trailer. I stood on throttle and then pull the trailer brake all the way down and let it go. The trailer brakes locked up and the tires skidded, causing a lot if smoke. When it cleared, that Mustang was a 1/4 mile back!!!?
