He Can Afford More Than An Old Truck, You Know
3 years ago
I walked into the then biggest in Atlanta Ford dealership a while after my first husband died, wanting a truck. The salesman didn't have an extended cab on the lot. I said, that's ok, I'll test drive a regular truck, I just want to get a feel for how the Ford truck drives. I was in a Tshirt and jeans. He couldn't be bothered. Didn't have time, Little lady's me, you want to try this Taurus instead, how about this little car.. I tried 3 times to get him to help me get a test drive. Gave up. Went home. Called p's, got a new truck with all the bells and whistles I wanted ordered from Chevrolet dealership with a significant discount (have friends who got a good deal due to repeat business). Called Ford the next day, talked to Sales Manager. Told him about his "little gal" you don't want to drive a truck, salesma
n who kept wanting to show me Taurus'..... I have a feeling that guy didn't work long.
After my husband passed away, I had insurance money to spend and decided I wanted an F150 supercab. I went to the nearest dealership in Atlanta and asked to test drive one. I was 1)a female alone and 2) wearing blue jeans and t shirt. The salesman said, we don't have any supercabs in stock for you to drive. I said, that's ok, I'll just try an F-150 then. He again declined to have me test drive the vehicle. I said, really? May I have your card. He was happy to give me his card, and said... "Come back with your husband". Sure... as soon as I can pry his ghost out of wherever... So I went home. And called Chevrolet. They were happy to help me, we ordered the vehicle I wanted, in the color I requested. Then I called the Ford dealer and talked to the general manager and gave him the complete story. He was very very very unhappy..... Especially when I explained that his comment about my husband was very unappreciated being I was still in mourning...
