I couldn't follow this at all.
I lived in an old farmhouse growing up and we shared a driveway with another house. They'd block it completely to where we had to honk or try to get their attention for over 15 minutes. The actual neighbors were great, but their guests were jerks.
We lived with my grandma, who was over 100, and they were lucky we never had any medical emergencies.
OP never mentioned she tried to apologize at all, so she probably realized nothing except she wanted her friend back. If you don't apologize, I wouldn't want you back in my life either.
I've found multiple lost phones. One was at my high school, and I called 'mom' and they came to get it within 10 minutes. Mostly, if it's in a store, I'll take it to the service desk.
Thankfully, when my husband lost his, someone did the same so we could get it back.
