Tyler Perry Pays For All Groceries Bought During Senior Shopping Hour At 73 Supermarkets

It’s always heartwarming to hear stories about celebrities and others in the public eye doing good deeds. Many celebrities from Selena Gomez and P!nk to Ryan Reynolds and Kanye West are no strangers to giving back to the community. These celebrities, among others, have no obligation to donate to charities and help those in need, but they do anyway, which is part of what makes their contributions so endearing.

Another celebrity who frequently gives back? Tyler Perry. Perry has done numerous things in the past to help the less fortunate. He has donated money to end homelessness, aided survivors of natural disasters, supported civil rights causes, you name it. His latest move was picking up the tab for groceries bought by senior citizens and other high-risk groups.

The generous American actor paid for each set of groceries that were purchased during senior shopping hour at 44 Kroger stores and 29 Winn-Dixie locations in New Orleans, and Atlanta, Georgia.

Perry initially kept his good deed a secret. However, supermarket management later revealed the good samaritan’s anonymous identity. If you ask me, he deserves the recognition!

“Senior and higher-risk Kroger shoppers in metro Atlanta did receive a nice surprise at the register this morning when they learned Tyler Perry had paid their grocery tab in full,” Felix Turner of Atlanta said on behalf of Kroger.

Perry ended up impacting several dozen seniors and high-risk individuals through his act of kindness. Not only did he make their day, but I’m positive he also helped many people who might have been struggling with financial troubles, whether due to the C*********s or unrelated circumstances.

Turner hopes that other customers will take their time to thank Perry for his deed.

“We would like to join our customers in thanking Mr. Perry for his kindness and generosity during this unprecedented pandemic. It was truly a pleasure to see our customers fill with joy and gratitude as the news spread throughout 44 stores across metro Atlanta,” Turner said.

Apart from showing appreciation to Perry, hopefully his act will encourage others to do something similar to help vulnerable populations during the spread of the virus. Even if one cannot donate their money, they can donate their time. For instance, they can pick up food or groceries for the elderly or disabled individuals of their community and deliver it to their doorsteps.
