I think we can all agree that tiny animals are adorable, especially baby animals. But I do have one itty-bitty “complaint.” Why are human babies’ first haircuts considered a big milestone, but a puppy’s first grooming session isn’t? They’re so underrated but should be equally celebrated!
A three-month-old toy poodle’s first time getting groomed, fortunately, is blowing up online. The footage proves not only how cute toy poodles are but how important a puppy’s first grooming session is. I mean, it’s a completely new experience for both the puppy and the owner, so why not capture the golden footage on video? It’s a moment that’s too adorable not to want to look back on and cherish for years to come.
During the toy poodle’s grooming appointment, she was placed in an enclosed area with puppy pads (just in case). The poor dog was so scared that she sat in the corner awaiting her turn. I just want to give her a little hug and tell her that everything will be okay. But little did she know what was going to happen.
Then it was her turn. The small dog was gently placed in a little “tub” to wash her. She seemed so confused the entire time. And when it was time to get all of the shampoo rinsed out of her fur with a showerhead, she was equally as confused as she was nervous. Yet, she seemed to be doing as best as she could to comply with the groomer’s wishes.
Probably the worst part of the grooming session after getting wet and having a random stranger rubbing shampoo into her fur was dealing with the big, bad blow drier, which is a little too loud for a tiny puppy’s ears.
But, I imagine one of the most relaxing parts of the experience was getting to hear the soft snips of scissors during her little fur trim. I’m sure she’s thankful that her long fur is now out of her eyes.
Although it was a bit of a scary experience and nonetheless strange for a three-month-old dog, the toy poodle had an overall successful experience. Now she’s as fluffy and cute as a teddy bear!
Hopefully next time she gets groomed, she’ll be less afraid or, heck, even look forward to her future appointments.
