In times of doubt, when there’s nothing you can do but wait and see, there’s the belief that doing simple, everyday rituals is the way to get through. When you’re waiting for news, or you’ve got a big day coming up that’s making you anxious, simply remembering to fill your time with things that need to get done makes the process that much easier. It’s the necessary ritual of folding laundry, washing dishes, cooking a meal, humming a tune, putting old books away, etc. Finding peace in the little things that help to keep life tidy.
And it’s even better if you can sing while you work! There’s nothing like a little ditty to lift your spirits and keep you grateful for all your blessings, just like Grace Anna whose parents caught her singing a mighty song!
In this video, six-year-old Grace Anna, diagnosed with a rare form of dwarfism, is singing “America The Beautiful” with all her heart. The little girl has spent most of her life in and out of hospitals, seeking treatment for her condition, and it was her mother’s singing that’s been able to help her heal along with her treatments. When she was very young, and her parents weren’t permitted to hold her, her mom’s singing helped keep her calm through some of the tougher moments.
Since then Grace Anna has become quite the songstress herself, singing along with many fans and followers on her very own Facebook page and blog. Parents Jeff and Angie Rogers are thrilled that Grace Anna has found peace in singing, but are adamant that everyone knows one thing about their daughter’s song choices.
“Even though as a family we are very passionate about who we chose to vote for, we do not want to ever use her page to endorse a candidate. It’s about Grace Anna. We never want her page to become a political debate. We are just hoping Americans will be informed, seek God’s guidance, and vote.”
