Let’s be honest, even for the non-germophobes out there, nobody likes it when someone sneezes near them or close to their food. It’s not uncommon to cringe when hearing someone else sneeze, even if they’re several feet away and covering their mouth. We all know what sneezes possess: moist, germy particles. Yuck!
However, when it comes to small children and even animals, sneezes are suddenly adorable in most people’s eyes, they often sound more like a soft, sweet “chew” rather than an obnoxious “AAA CHOOOO.” Wouldn’t you agree?
But how many animals have you actually heard sneeze before? Maybe a cat or a dog. What else? In one viral video, which has racked up over 400,000 views and counting, a tiny owl sneezing is catching everyone’s attention. Surely you’ve probably never heard an owl sneeze before, let alone, a bird! How bizarre is that? And how often do you get to encounter a nocturnal owl?
Towards the beginning of the clip, the owl is squinting and keeps opening his little beak as he desperately tries to let his sneeze out. We all know that feeling. It’s annoying and a pinch frustrating at times, especially when you’re dealing with a cold. Just as the owl puffs its chest, we think it will sneeze. Wait, no. False alarm.
But after more beak smacking, chest-puffing, and eye squinting continues to happen along with eye-watering as the poor little guy just can’t seem to get relief. At one point, he even faces the camera with his eyes shut and one eye slightly twitches. Ugh, just watching this owl makes me want to sneeze for him!
Then finally, the poor little feathered dear sneezes – eventually twice! The first one is louder, while the second one is just a teeny tiny little pouf. While I’m relieved for the bird, at the same time, I’m dying of cuteness inside as he releases a quiet, high-pitched sound. But even well after his sneeze, the owl looks like he’s been suffering from a cold or is dealing with allergies because his eyes continue to squint and water. Poor thing!
Nevertheless, the sound of the sneeze was the cutest thing I had heard all day. It’s little things like this sneezing owl that can change someone’s mood almost instantly.
