Firefighting and policing are serious jobs! These brave heroes show up in the face of danger when a building goes up in flames or gets submerged in flooding three feet deep. Firefighters are the first on the scene for any emergency situation to protect the public and that could mean anything that requires instant aid.
Their job is to be at the forefront of the action, the first responders and have that can-do attitude that gets them to wake up in the middle of the night, suit up, and slide down a pole to show up immediately. But, that doesn’t mean that they can’t have a little fun when they’re not on the clock.
The Lip Sync Challenge has been spreading like wildfire across the Internet, but I think the Paris Fire Department in North Texas, USA, may have just put out the competition. This is one sweet challenge video that has some twists and turns, surprises and delights as well as being really well produced! I’m pretty sure they used drones and some other fancy cinematography!
This clever video shows the guys and gals sweetly sleeping in the fire hall. Everything is peaceful as the camera pans over to one particular firefighter who’s dreaming about himself as Miley Cyrus swinging in on a wrecking ball. Taking the same premise as the music video but jazzed up, he and his teammates are dancing around and lip syncing to the pop song. We delve into another man’s dream, eventually reaching the super catchy “Barbie Girl,” by Aqua, when one of the guys puts on a tutu and a helmet and frolicks around the station.
But, before we get there, there’s even a shout out to the police included in this gem. One of the firefighters is shaving, and asks himself, “I wonder if the cops really think we’re as cool as we really are…” then we cut to two cops in a cruiser singing along to “Hero” by the Foo Fighters, where a fire truck whizzes by as the cop sings, “There goes my heeeero, watch him as he goes….” a perfect and subtle little nod to the “coolness” of how firefighters view themselves.
Overall, it’s a great lip synch mashup that has garnered over five million views! How is anyone going to top this!? One viewer comments, “I’m moving to Fort Worth in 3 weeks and I suddenly feel like my new place might have a small fire…”
