Teens Groove To 60s Song And Switch Moves When Song Changes

Music has a way of speaking to everyone. Nearly every single person, whether old, young or in between, can probably tell you their favorite type of music and even some of their favorite songs. Uniquely, music connects people to each other and to certain times in their lives. Often, when we hear a certain song, we can remember the first time we heard it played, or the time it was playing in the background during an important moment in our lives.

Music serves as a cultural touchstone, and we can use it to track the passage of time throughout decades and generations. It’s a means of communication and has always been a way for people to express themselves, whether they are making music, listening to music, or even dancing to it.

The four teens in this video have taken the time to recognize that even though their generation has favorite songs and dances that go along with them, others have felt the same about their music. On the night of their prom, the boys decided to give a special performance for their classmates.

After they take the stage, a popular song from the 60s, “Stand By Me,” starts to play. The teens begin to dance, but in just a few moments, the music changes. They continue dancing, and then it changes again! Each new song has a new dance, and the guys perform a perfectly choreographed routine to songs throughout several decades, the 60s, 70s, 80, and more.

Their performance, called “The New Evolution of Dance,” is actually a remake of a similar Youtube video called “The Evolution of Dance.” It was one of the first videos to ever go viral on Youtube and has been recreated many times, but this is definitely one of the best versions yet!

Watch their epic performance below!
