Teen Meets Stranger In Store And Helps Him Find A Kidney Donor

With a little help from Twitter, Karen’s tweet has been retweeted over 260,000 times. Robert has said he is in awe that a simple shopping trip could lead to such a significant encounter that could save his life. Robert isn’t the only American waiting for an organ transplant – more than 95, 287 people are on a waiting list for a kidney transplant, the most needed organ with the longest waiting list.

Although Robert is one of these 95, 287 people the chances of him finding a match just got a bit higher thanks to Karen.

And with his photo online? He’s just improved his chances exponentially. After all, Robert says the worst part of his condition isn’t the side effects or the dialysis. The toughest part is the wait. And thanks to Karen and her friends, his wait for a matching kidney could soon be over.

Karen has given Robert a new hope that he never had before — social media for the win, again! And like I said before, this time social media has done more than just shown pictures of nice places and good food. This matter is a life-changing one.

People have been sharing Robert’s story left, right and center, spreading the word of his need for a kidney as well as the importance of donating organs, and how it can save lives. Robert refers to Karen and her friends as his “saint,” ever grateful for the kindness and compassion they showed him.
