Sisters Add Haunting Harmony To Smash Hit That Has Judges Standing Up & Applauding

I love a little doo-wop! A super catchy song to start your day off right and stay in your head until you go to bed. There are songs out there that I sing in my sleep because they’re so catchy! And, they stay with me all week until the next one comes around.

So, when sisters Tali and Emily Cooper chose Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” one of 2014’s catchiest most popular songs, on “Israel’s Got Talent,” you know you’re in for a good time! The song is fun and doesn’t get boring, ever. It’s got layers of different sounds and influences including bubblegum pop, doo-wop and a sprinkle of retro R&B!

The two girls appear onstage dressed in pleated bright yellow and pink kilts with matching bandanas in their long flowy hair. They’ve got short white tanks tops to match their shiny white shoes. At first, they are back to back as they start to sing the first notes of the smash song. And, these girls got it! What’s so neat is that they’ve rearranged the song to be lower and more harmonic. While it’s still upbeat and very much just as catchy, this duo aims to please by making this hit their own.

Both girls are snapping their fingers and swinging their hips as they introduce the catchy chorus. Immediately, the judges are intrigued. The pitch is lower and jazzier, already giving their rendition a totally different take. Their voices seamlessly start to carry each other, creating a whirlwind sound of harmony when the older sister takes over and performs the first verse by herself. Little sis chimes in, accenting the lower verse with her high pitch, giving the song that added touch of soul! These girls are on fire!

Tali and Emily have such an effortless flow of sound. While one voice is casual and edgy, the other is high and sassy! Combined, they’ve got an excellent act and come together to create something truly unique. The judges loved every second of their performance, garnering a huge round of applause and standing ovation. Way to go girls!

I don’t thinkI’ve seen or heard a rendition like this one. Have you? If so, tell us about it in the comments below!

And, in the meantime, click to watch Tali and Emily totally bring it on the “Israel’s Got Talent” stage!
