I have a lot of gray, and black and white clothes in my wardrobe. I can’t help it! These colors, or lack thereof, are familiar and safe and match with everything! It’s easy. What doesn’t go with black? I can throw most of my pieces together and look good for the day – most of the time. But with summer drawing near, wearing monotones makes me look like I’m on my way to a very boring meeting or a funeral.
Adding a pop of color not only reflects the changing of seasons, but it’s also been shown to enhance your mood and make you feel better overall. Plus, it gives you a little character! I will always love black (and white and beige and taupe and warm gray and cool gray…), but I need to take a page out of this lady’s book because, wow! This is such a great transformation.
While red isn’t for everybody, it certainly is for Susan who needed a change up from her everyday gray hair. Her curly mane already has spunk and personality, it’s natural, so Makeover Guy Christopher Hopkins took one look at Susan and knew exactly what to do. Susan also gave him free rein – she didn’t care too much about the cut or color, she completely trusted him and left him up to his own devices! Considering she and her sister traveled from Wisconsin to see him, he knew Susan wanted something different and fun, and therefore, he could do something a little different!
And that’s exactly what happened. After Susan admitted she wanted to ditch the gray and opt for something that brings out her smile and personality, Christopher gave her a fiery red colour and a really rockin’ cut. It’s not that she was ashamed of her gray and wanted to hide it, it was more like it was time for an upgrade and change; it was an injection of fun and thrill to add a little bounce to her step. Just like me when I wear a pop of color against my dull colored wardrobe!
Together, the new ‘do, and color make Susan sparkle. She got a few inches chopped off to reveal more of her face and bright eyes. Plus, with a little bit of glam makeup, she is ready to go and take on whatever comes next. Susan looks like she just stepped off Hollywood set and into reality.
