Abandoned Dogs Roam Streets Hungry Until Police Intervenes With Helpful Idea

As a child, I was perpetually hungry. No amount of food could satiate my hunger. I was also a little cheeky and would ask for seconds, sometimes thirds! At the dinner table, I clearly remember adults asking me if I had hollow legs because I could gobble up so much food and yet still managed to be a lanky kid.

I feel like I coined the term “hangry” because that is me to a tee. If I haven’t got a scrap of food in my stomach, I am a monster. I am not myself, I don’t know who I become, it’s like I turn into Mr. Hyde. I feel lucky and grateful to have food on my plate and really love this video for this reason.

For those little doggy souls who don’t have food or water, who don’t have accessibility and who can’t help themselves, police stations in Peru are trying to change their lives. Across several cities in the South American country, stations have recognized that dogs and other city street strays are suffering. Whether abandoned or abused, they still need food and water to survive.

In this video, we get a little clip that takes place just outside the Tacna Central Police Station, where they have put out a feeding station. A passer-by took out his phone to catch the moment on camera when a blonde, sweet-faced pup came strolling onto the scene. At first, he sniffs around to get comfortable in his surroundings, trying to make sense of what it is he’s seeing. Do his eyes deceive him? Could it actually be….? Not seconds later, the pup is face first into the mouth of the feeding and watering bowl. That’s a nice little surprise on a hot summer day on a dog’s normal jaunt down the sidewalk!

The video has since gone viral, with many viewers commenting on the police’s kindness. And the comments keep flooding in, “Many thanks to the National Police Central Police Station, really thank you for so much love.” Here’s another, “What a good gesture with the animals, I also hope soon with the people who live in the street.”

Do you know of any other countries that do something similar for strays? Tell us in the comments below!
