Winter has got to be one of my favorite seasons. I enjoy the white layer of snow spread across the streets and on rooftops, I love the holidays, and I thoroughly enjoy winter fashion! All-in-all it’s a win-win for me. But, if there’s something that really drives me nuts about this weather, then it has to be my car windows and windshield constantly fogging up—even with the heat on!
I really don’t like coming out in the morning to a car full of snow; but, what’s worse is turning the car on and noticing that it’s taking extremely long for the windows to defrost. Sometimes I have to sit there for a few minutes, waiting to see through the windshield. Not good. I guess I just don’t have that much patience early in the morning.
There are multiple products that you can buy at your local hardware store, which will help prevent the windows from getting all foggy. But, there are also some tips and tricks you can use right at home and ward off all that excess fog, as soon as you turn the heat on.
The man in the video below conducts an interesting experiment which involves testing the best defogging products. Of the five products that he has, one of them is store-bought while the other four can be found right at home. He uses a store-bought defogger, baby shampoo, a potato, shaving cream, and hand sanitizer in this experiment.
Now, each one of these is “proven” to help defog windows and windshields, so they’re truly put to the test in this video.
The results are actually quite interesting! The hardware store defogger ended up working its magic but coming in to give it some serious competition was shaving cream! Although the shampoo, sanitizer, and potato didn’t fare so well, this experiment proves that all you really need is a little bit of shaving cream smothered on your windows to help prevent them from fogging up! You can say goodbye to store-bought defoggers for good.
