We all love to see our siblings being their best selves and having success in their lives. When we see that they’re happy, we get excited for them. We can’t help it! So, Sam is no different. Sam, a young man with Down syndrome wanted to visit his younger brother, Jack, at the job that he is so proud of him for having.
Jack is a guard at Windsor Castle, and he protects the Queen. Finally, the day came when Sam could go to Windsor Castle to visit his brother.
When he arrives, he’s taken to his brother who is standing with another guard, Lt. Bragger. Lt. Bragger informs him that Jack won’t be able to speak or respond to him and that he’ll be standing very still. Then he says that after Jack’s shift is over, they’ll be able to hang out and have a cup of tea.
Sam informs us that Jack joined the army in 2016, but in 2017, it was the first time that he got to see him in action!
Another guard tells Sam that even though he can’t talk to his brother, he can take a picture with him. The proud brother goes ahead and poses with Jack for a shot.
The thing that Sam doesn’t know is that Jack is allowed to move to perform a series of foot and gun movements every 10 minutes. After the picture, Jack stomps his foot on the ground, and it scares Sam. He runs away! He laughs as he reaches the guards.
A guard later shows him where all the others sleep. When Sam enters the room, he’s met with a surprise, as the guard points out that Jack is in there!
Sam doesn’t miss a beat when he sees his younger brother, and he yells, “Jack!” as he runs up to him with open arms. Jack wraps him in a tight hug right away and lifts him up as Sam wraps his legs around his younger brother’s waist. They hug each other tightly, and then Sam tells his brother that he misses; Jack tells his older brother that he misses him, too. The whole interaction warms your heart, but the almost two-minute long video comes to an end there.
