Dogs (sometimes) have a mind of their own — how many of you have heard this saying? I know I have! I’ve even experienced it. One moment my dog will be all ready to head out for a walk, and then the next, he decides that it’s time for him to laze around and not want to go outside at all. There’s nothing you can do once he’s decided on what he wants to do.
It seems like the pup in this video is the same! A long-haired Dachshund was taking part in a dog race hosted by the El Paso Chihuahuas when he decided that he was going to escape the pack and give his audience a show to remember.
The dog escaped from his owner and began running around wild, on the field; the El Paso Chihuahuas are a minor league baseball team who was hosting the event on their turf.
The Dachshund was running around the bases, sniffing everything that was coming in his way and he seemed to be fully unashamed by it! It’s hilarious!
Watch how the park workers and several players try to catch the dog in action. They, unfortunately for them, but fortunately for us (because we get some more funny footage to watch!), weren’t able to catch him.
The pup was eventually caught by his owner and taken back to his pack, but not before giving everyone a good laugh! He didn’t win the $500 prize that day, but he won over a lot of hearts, that’s for sure!
