Traditionally, the ring bearer in a wedding holds the ring! He is a little boy aged 4 to 8 who walks down the aisle ahead of the flower girl. The ring can be in a box, or on a pillow—as long as the ring gets to the bride and groom, we’re solid! It’s a very important job, after all, what’s a wedding without the ring? Someone has to do it!
But, it’s 2018 and roles are becoming less traditional anyways. This video is a hilarious example of what happens when kids get bored and what ends up happening when they try to pass the time in the middle of a wedding ceremony. Boredom can hit anywhere, you know.
The video opens to the ring bearer and flower girl at the back of the ceremony getting ready for their debut down the aisle. She’s holding a box of petals and alongside her is the ring bearer who is very keen to switch jobs. He’s totally lost interest in his role, and with childlike abandon, has instead set his eyes on something more appealing. He wants to throw flower petals with the flower girl.
She doesn’t seem to mind too much as he helps himself to her box. He reaches in and grabs fistfuls of petals to throw down. Unlike the young girl, however, he seems a little more into it than she is. He’s going at it faster and with less elegance. While she’s methodically sprinkling, he’s full on grabbing and throwing!
Just as they approach the end of their path, the boy looks down, looks up and throws his hands in the air shouting, “Ha, ha! I win!” sending onlookers into a fit of hysterics. The boy thought he was in competition with the girl to throw down the most flowers, and it’s his outburst that just goes to show he was competing against himself. The girl had no idea what was going on, and the crowd was equally surprised! He repeats, “I win!” and runs toward the seated guests with his arms in the air, asking for a high five while jumping up and down. He continues to show his excitement as the girl walks away down the aisle. The boy’s adorable happy dance is pretty funny. Let’s just hope he gets the ring to the bride sooner rather than later!
