Abandoned Creature With Weird Look Finds New Home

Everyone is different, that’s the only way the world is compromised of people with unique talents, behaviors, and looks. The same goes for the animal kingdom. Although there are animals that are grouped as per the “family” they belong too, almost each of the species looks different in one way or another. Some animals seem to look more conventional (i.e., a cat looks the same everywhere) whereas others have a unique touch to them. Whipper, the parakeet, belongs to the ladder group.

Hailing from New Zealand, Whipper is what people term as a “bizarre mutant parakeet” — everyone thinks that he doesn’t look like every other parakeet, which he doesn’t, and it was for this reason that he was abandoned as a baby.

The bird, however, managed to survive because of the humans that found him and fostered him to become this old. Apparently, Whipper is a soft-natured bird and even has the softest green feathers. These very feathers set him apart from every other bird in his family.

Experts say that his looks are a result of genetic mutation and that has also affected his vocalization — he doesn’t sound like your every parakeet. Regardless of the fact that Whipper has a different look, mutations are naturally possible with animals. In this bird’s case, his curly feathers, flightless wings, and blindness are a part of his mutation.

These unique attributes, however, do not work against Whipper. He is a beautiful bird, and we’re so glad that he got a chance at living life.
