Man’s Pulls Camera Out Seconds Before Lightning Bolt Strikes A Bridge

Nature is spectacular. She wows us in ways that take our breath away. Sometimes it’s big, like finding an incredible cascading waterfall hidden in the depths of lush, green jungle. Other times, it’s small, like peering over to see a monarch butterfly quietly hanging out on your shoulder. And don’t even get me started on rainbows! After every storm, I’m always on the hunt to find a brilliant rainbow in the sky. They’re so gorgeous and one of nature’s miracles! Remember the double rainbow guy? Yeah, he knows what’s up! I once saw a triple rainbow, and I was floored. They do in fact exist!

And what about rainstorms? The ones that roll in unannounced and take over the sky. It’s an orchestra of rumbles and tumbles, crashing lightning and roaring thunder. Now, these are truly magnificent!

They’re also scary. Let’s face it. They can roar on for hours, with peaks of intensity before they subside. A storm ebbs and flows and stays dark and ominous! I actually love them, as long as I’m inside! Getting caught in one wouldn’t be my cup of tea, especially if there’s the threat of getting struck by lightning.

In this video, a man high in the hills of Mostar in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina is taking in the moody scene. The sky is grey and low-lit. Nothing much is happening in the first 30 seconds, but you can hear the sounds of the impending storm. Lots of rain is falling, and you can hear it hitting the ground, hard. There is lightning beyond the hills, but it doesn’t seem too close. It’s just far away enough not to feel edgy.

The thunder is rolling, and the rain is heavy, and then out of nowhere, a massive, stunning bolt of lightning breaks through the sky and hits the bridge – only 50 meters away from where the man is safely standing! It’s a thick bolt of bright white light that hits earth and makes the man jump. What an unbelievable sight to see as it pierces through the sky and makes a deafening crack! This man is lucky he wasn’t any closer, and that he caught it all on camera because this is a rarity to see, let alone capture!

Remember that it is so important to keep out of danger and any storm’s way when you’re out and about. Safety first!
