There’s a new addition to the family! And even though grandma knew she’d get to meet her granddaughter someday, she didn’t realize that day would be today! Grandma Kathy was going about her daily routine, walking around home, when she walks into the room to be greeted by not only her family and a bunch of cameras, but with a beautiful baby, Maiya!
Her surprised reaction says it all! Grandma holds the little bundle of joy, and suddenly, her face changes from a look of fun and excitement to “OMG, this baby is real, and she exists, and she’s in my arms!”
Kathy is pretty overwhelmed and needs to sit down. She’s shaking, trying to compose herself and take in the gravity of the situation. This baby is her granddaughter, and she’s waited a long time to be in this moment. She starts to break down crying and whimpering.
This precious moment between them is a lot for grandma to take in! So much so, her daughter says, “You may want to start smiling soon…!” Grandma wipes her tears away saying how excited she is and confessing how much she loves the baby. Gran Kathy really must have been shocked because her daughter says, “Thank you for not saying the f-word. You’ve got a baby in the house!” To which everyone laughs and the moment is lightened up.
