I think it’s safe to say that we’ve all experienced some time on a farm amongst animals. This time can be lazing around the farm that you live on or one that you’re visiting for the day with family and friends. Now, just in case you haven’t, I’m sure you’ve heard the story of Pied Piper.
For anyone who doesn’t know the story, Pied Piper is about a man who attracts animals by using the beautiful sound of a magic flute. So, now we’re all on the same page and have either spent time on a farm or are familiar with this famous story.
The reason I bring up farms and animals is that this video below is something taken right out of the page of Pied Piper.
In an unusual case, a farmer in China is blowing a whistle to collect hundreds of chickens. It’s cool to see how the chickens fly right over, from all directions, to be with the farmer upon him calling them. The sight is different and something I’ve never seen before.
It’s easy to understand why animals would be attracted to the serene sound of a flute, but it’s beyond me when I think of what could bring the chickens in at the call of a whistle.
It’s a possibility that they’re trained this way, but it’s interesting to watch nonetheless.
