I remember going through numerous family pets when I was younger. I had a ton of fish — they were usually overfed while we went on vacation and we would return to them floating at the top of the bowl (sad!). I also had a pet kitty for a few days, before she was adopted by a family friend who could take better care of her. And, then, there were out pet snails and worms and everything else in between. Yup, it’s a long list. But, my most favorite furry friend? Dimple, our pet dog!
For many people, dogs aren’t just pets; they are a member of the family. These furry creatures burrow their way into our lives with their wagging tails and cold noses, and before we know it, they’ve “trained” us to do things just how they like. Perhaps your dog loves to get up early in the morning for a walk or likes to snuggle under the covers in your bed at night. As dog owners, we might complain about some of our dogs’ more annoying habits, but we all know that we love them and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Because they are family members, we include them in everything we do. They ride along in the car when we go to the store and even get to go into pet stores and other places where dogs are welcome. We hang out at the dog park, and we relax in front of the television together. Our dogs have their beds, their bowls, and take up a huge space in our hearts. Many people even plan their vacations so that they can take their dogs with them on the trip.
Since they’re a part of our everyday lives, this means that our dogs are part of special occasions like holidays and birthdays. And some, like the dog in this video, like to get involved in everything, including singing “Happy Birthday!”
An entire family is gathered in front of their camera to sing the familiar tune to their daughter Audrey; the family dog, Barley, decided to join in the singing and started howling as soon as they sang the first note. Even more impressive, Barley managed to sing along for the entire song!
