It’s always really fun for me to spot a new animal, and ticking off a box on my long list of animals to see. I remember when I first saw a snowy owl. I was blown away. It’s such a majestic beautiful creature. I also recall seeing my first bear, another stunning creature, but way scarier! I was driving up through Alaska, and saw a baby one near the side of the road. I wanted to get a little closer by standing in the car through the roof (there was no way I’d get out otherwise!!!!), but usually, if there’s a baby alone, momma isn’t far behind. And as beautiful as this creature was, I didn’t want to take any chances!
So I can fully understand the look of utter confusion and bewilderment of these three men who just witnessed the strangest sight – a dog dramatically emerging from the forest chasing a bear!
On a deserted road cutting through the thick wilderness of Surgut, Russia, three men standing near their car got a real show. As they’re loitering around minding their own business, an adorable brown bear emerges from the forest and starts to run down the road. He’s got a cute face with big ears and lumbers along just like bears do. Where he’s going is anybody’s guess, but what happens next is what’s most intriguing.
Seconds later, a stray mutt comes out of the woodwork! He bursts out of the woods and heads straight for the bear, barking up a storm. But it doesn’t seem like the dog is chasing the bear to try to get him. It’s much more playful and lighthearted. When the bear catches on that the dog is behind him, they switch directions, and now the bear is playfully chasing the dog. They seem like friends on a play date, not enemies looking to attack one another.
It’s this change of direction that surprises the three men! All of a sudden, the commotion is headed straight for them, and while the dog isn’t too scary, it’s the bear coming right at them that’s a little bit overwhelming. All three men jump in the air and make their way to the car! The bear hurls himself in the woods, and the two friends vanish.
The video changes perspective, but the sentiment is obvious. These unlikely characters met each other and forged a cute and funny friendship. Who knows how long it’ll last, but it sure gave these onlookers something to write home about!
