While it’s unclear where the expression came from, the quote “…dance like nobody’s watching,” is definitely up there with some of the most memorable sayings. It means to lose your inhibition while moving your body in a way that feels good. Dancing brings about different feelings for different people. For some, it’s their passion, their livelihood, something they’ve been doing all their lives and feel confident doing. For others, well, they think they’ve got two left feet and feel embarrassed. They don’t like to dance and certainly don’t like to be caught dancing. And, then, there’s a few of us folk who just dance because it feels good. We’re sort of ok at doing it, but definitely not professionals. Or amateurs! We’ve got a little funk in us and we’re not afraid to show it!
But, no matter how much you love or hate it, feel good or feel bad about doing it, there’s a moment in everyone’s life where you must and will dance! Maybe it’s a happy dance, a little hip swing or movement of the arms when your favorite song comes on. Or, maybe you do a full-blown contemporary dance in the middle of the road when a street performer strums his guitar. Whatever the case, we all have a little boogie in us!
And, even more so when we think no one is looking! This sneaky dad caught his wife and young son dancing to 80s mega-hit “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club. The song is on loud and dad is munching on a snack when he switches on his phone’s camera and lifts up to snap what’s going on behind him. It’s such a sweet moment between mother and child! They’re lettin’ loose, tearing up the living room “dance floor,” busting cute and hilarious moves. She’s shaking and moving, using her arms and bobbing her head. The young boy even has a prop! He’s got a broom as his dancing partner, flipping and twirling it around, pulling off some impressive stuff!
Mom is in the middle of a twirl when she spins like a pro and lands facing her husband. Busted! He’s caught filming his adorable family in the background! She doesn’t seem to mind too much, she smiles and her son keeps going.
