There are a few special layers in this loving moment between father and baby son and we’re going to take you through them one-by-one. But, before we get started, it’s best to advise you to grab the tissue box.
Everyone knows how tender an infant’s first moments can be! It’s all of these “firsts” that make parents laugh, and cry or make them proud. It can be very emotional, as you’ll discover in the following video. Hang tight though, we promise it’s a good one.
Firstly, dad, Captain Brandon Caldwell, was deployed to Antarctica with the Air Force for two months – far away from his home, his wife, and his baby boy. And remote! Not much goes on there, so you can imagine just how much you’d miss your family if you were in the Captain’s shoes! Surely, you can imagine too, just how happy he is to be home! Upon his arrival, he hasn’t changed his attire. Still in uniform, Brandon comes home to hold his nine-month-old Reagan Caldwell in his arms, which is cute enough, but it gets better.
Secondly, after Brandon left for duty, Reagan, who suffers from poor eyesight, was fitted with strong but mighty glasses to help him see his surroundings with better acuity. His hearing was always in check, but his vision was underdeveloped, so actually seeing and understanding his surroundings has never been an option for him. Poor baby has had to live in his own world – until now!
Thirdly, the tender moment between father and son becomes real when Brandon holds Reagan in his arms, and Reagan is bobbing and dancing around to his father’s singing, absolutely ecstatic to be in his embrace and move around to a familiar voice.
Just when things couldn’t get more touching, Reagan suddenly stops dancing to dad’s song and nuzzles closer to dad’s chest. The baby looks overcome with emotion, relieved that dad is home – which of course causes dad to crumble into tears. Brandon is crying tears of joy and love and has the Internet’s heart gushing over this baby snugglebug. It’s totally cuteness overload!
