People often think of dogs and cats as enemies. In fact, you probably know people who identify as either a “dog person” or a “cat person.” But, just because someone prefers one over the other doesn’t mean that the two species can’t live together in harmony.
If you have cats and dogs living in the same home, you already know that they can be good friends. Usually, if they don’t actually like one another, they will just ignore each other and go about their lives like normal. There is always the exception — a dog that doesn’t like cats or the other way around, but most of the time they get along just fine.
When I brought my new rescue dog along to visit my boyfriend, we worried about his cat, who has never lived with dogs. We were afraid that his cat would be scared or upset by the small, curious dog. But, it turned out we had nothing to worry about! The cat wasn’t afraid of the dog at all; it was the dog who was more frightened. Within a couple of hours, the two pets were getting along like old friends.
The kitty in this video is obviously not even a little bit frightened of the adorable puppy that has become a part of her family. She seems pretty happy about it because now she can steal the puppy’s nice, soft bed. The puppy is so cute as it approaches the much bigger cat and tries to convince it to give up the comfy bed. Even as it pulls the bed across the slippery floor, the cat just watches, completely unfazed. I wouldn’t be surprised if these two become the best of friends!
