Weddings are a feat to plan. It’s not easy to decide on the date, the decor, the DJ, the venue and make a guest list and ensure that everyone you want to be a part of your big day is included in one way or the other. As a bride and groom, it’s a fun yet stressful time, but if you’re a part of the bridal party (groomsmen and bridesmaids), then you also feel a sense of tension. Agreed?
For example, as a bridesmaid, you will do all it takes to ensure that the bride remains as calm and stress-free as possible. You agree to hold up her dress when she has to go to the bathroom on her big day and give her a tight hug and words of reassurance when she’s hyperventilating about walking down the aisle, moments before saying her “I do’s.” You also have the jitters.
Every bride appreciates her entourage of helpers and bridesmaid, the ones that help her through it all, and it’s rewarding and satisfying (as someone who is a part of the bridal party) to watch both the bride and her groom exchange their vows, and enjoy their wedding day. Somewhere you feel that you’ve done your job right, and their smiles and relief are rewarding.
But sometimes as a bridesmaid, even you’re in for a little surprise. It can be a thoughtful gift from the newly-weds or any other gesture to show that you’re appreciated, and that’s exactly what happened to the one in the video below. The girl’s friend threw the bouquet up in the air, and it landed directly into her hands. She had just started taking it in (the fact that she is next to get married!) when she turns around and sees her boyfriend down on one knee, proposing to her. That was quick, wasn’t it!
This gesture was so sweet and intimate, and the entire room lit up, and everyone was cheering for the newly engaged couple. What a beautiful way to end off the celebrations — we go from wrapping up one wedding to starting the preparations for another.
