Some delivery drivers are just so awesome. There’s an Amazon delivery driver in my area who’s so kind that he’ll voluntarily avoid stepping onto someone’s strip of grass dividing him and the home he’s delivering to and, instead, will walk further to get access to the home via sidewalk. It’s just too sweet.
Another delivery driver, who also works for Amazon, that should be recognized is Monica Salinas.
Salinas, who lives in Idaho, was recently delivering a package to the home of Raquel and Derek Pearson when she saw a note on their door that read:
“Hi,
Thank you for delivering our food and packages to us. We have an infant with medical needs and online deliveries are essential to his health. You are helping keep our son alive and well.
We are grateful to you all who are on the front lines delivering to our family.
Stay safe and take care.
All our love,
The Pearson family”
The note also included images of the Pearson’s eight-month-old son, Lucas, who was born with a heart defect. Due to both his age and cardiovascular diagnosis, the infant is at a higher risk of catching the C*********s. And if he caught it, he’d have a lower chance of successfully overcoming it.
Salinas was saddened by the message on the door. So, she did what she felt she needed to do after she placed the package on their doorstep: stop for a moment and pray.
“That’s the kind of stuff that makes my heart cry, and I felt the need to pray,” she said.
With her head down and hands together, Salinas said her prayer, gestured the sign of the cross, and then returned back to her work van to continue her delivery route.
What Salinas didn’t realize, though, was that the Pearson family had a video doorbell system installed that recorded the entire incident, and you bet they saw the footage. Raquel was so touched to see what a nice thing a delivery driver could do during her family’s difficult time that she decided to post the video on Facebook for others to see. After watching the video, other strangers, too, said prayers for the young child.
To top it off, Salinas, who’s talented in the music department, even wrote a song for Baby Lucus. Her heart is so pure!
We need more delivery drivers, and people in general, like Salinas. Times are difficult with or without the C*********s, but people like this woman make things even easier and more pleasant.
Watch Salinas bow down in prayer, and see the Pearson family’s reaction in the following video.
