Kind Man Donates His Minivan To Pizza Delivery Driver After His Car Was Hijacked And Crashed

Every day, you might witness simple acts of kindness on the streets – people holding doors for one another, a stranger offering a helping hand to someone with a big load, a kind human being giving their spare change to a homeless man or woman, or even someone paying for the order of the person behind them. These appreciated deeds may seem trivial to some folks, but our world thrives on them.

One incredible example of human kindness that recently occurred was when a stranger donated his minivan to a young pizza delivery driver after his car was unexpectedly stolen and crashed. Although the situation started out unfortunate, it’s a story that will melt your heart!

Rayden Jones, a Happy’s Pizza delivery driver in Port Huron, Michigan, literally turned his back for just a few minutes to take some pizzas into a local school a few weeks ago. When he returned to his vehicle, it was gone.

Fortunately for Jones, a random man by the name of Kevin Lindke who was driving home from work spotted the stolen car as it was driving erratically the wrong way onto the freeway. Lindke dialed 911 and cautiously followed the car where it later crashed into another car. The thief took off running, but Lindke was able to convince the woman to stay until the police arrived.

It wasn’t until later that the selfless man learned that the car the woman was driving actually belonged to a pizza delivery driver. Worried that the man would lose his job, let alone have no means of transportation for a while, Lindke felt compelled to donate his minivan to Jones, which he had original plans to sell.

Jones was floored by Lindke’s kindness. “I’m not going to lie, I about burst into tears because who does that?” Jones said. “It’s a godsend—that this man, out of nowhere, who I’ve never met, would do this. It’s mind-blowing.”

Although Jones may never completely wrap his head around why Lindke was so selfless to him, a stranger, the minivan donor certainly has his reasons.

“I understand taking some hits and having to work through it,” Lindke said.

Although we all go through difficulties in life, losing a vehicle can be completely life-altering for most people. It may take months or even years for someone with a stolen vehicle to eventually get themselves a new car, especially if they’re in the middle of still paying off the vehicle that was stolen. In the meantime, they’re forced to take public transportation or get rides from loved ones, which can be an inconvenience all around. And as a pizza delivery driver, Jones’s ability to not only get to work each day but to actually do his job would be negatively impacted.

But thanks to Lindke, Jones won’t have to deal with those disadvantages. Donating a car is much more than a small act of kindness, and it was certainly one that Lindke didn’t have to do, but did it from the goodness of his heart.
