Pink has brought us into her life all throughout her career. We’ve seen her highs and lows, her heartbreaks and her triumphs. She’s given the world an up close and personal view into what makes her tick and how she sees things. Her high-energy and strong impassioned character has always set her apart from the crowd as a leader and trailblazer.
While her wilder days might be behind her, she’s still fierce. She’s still got a lot of heart and soul, and today, she passes on the torch to her little girl, Willow Sage Hart.
Pink is married to motocross racer Cary Hart, and together they have two kids Jameson, 1, and Willow, 7. The latter is showing some serious musical chops as she gets older. When Pink was asked to sing for a re-release of 2017’s “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack, starring Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams, she enlisted the help of her daughter for a little backup. This “re-imagined” soundtrack will have new versions done by a list of all-star performers, re-doing each of the original songs that topped the charts, including Kelly Clarkson, Pentatonix and the Zac Brown Band.
The video opens to the mother and daughter duo in the studio, joking around and giggling. They’ve got their headphones on, outfitted with a mic, and they’re ready to record. Already, it’s heartwarming. Pink says, “You’re fun. I think you’re fun. I’m glad I had you!”
The music starts and Pink leads her daughter in for their duet singing “A Million Dreams,” a pretty inspiring song to begin with! Willow’s little girly voice pours out of her mouth, and it’s music to the ears. She’s got this charm and presence obviously handed down from her superstar mom. They are face-to-face and Pink guides her little girl every step of the way as she sings her part. Willow nails it, and mom gives her a huge smile and two thumbs up.
The video then moves on to Pink chatting with the songwriters, thanking them for making her and Willow’s favorite movie ever, and Pink takes over on the vocals. She sings the song like the pro she is, adding her signature style and raspy vocals to pull off a soul-stirring version. Pink records the actual song “A Million Dreams,” sung by Hugh Jackman in the film, while Willow’s part will be the reprise. Put together, I’m sure it will be magical! I can’t wait for the full version.
