For Christmas, children usually ask for toys or the latest tablet as presents. They make a list or tell Santa that they want a huge Barbie doll house or even a new puppy. The boy, which you can see in the video down below, however, wanted something peculiar. Something, I’m sure, no one else has ever asked for.
Sawyer, this little boy, told his aunt Morgan Deichert that he wanted ketchup for Christmas. Morgan tweeted: “When your nephew asks for ketchup for Christmas, you get him ketchup for Christmas.” She attached a video showing Sawyer’s reaction to his wish.
The reaction is utterly adorable, and despite knowing that he wanted a bottle of ketchup, his excited reaction still comes as a surprise. Who gets that excited over ketchup? Anyway, in the video, the boy is going through a box, taking out all of the tissue paper inside, when he realizes his gift.
“Oh, ketchup!” he yells, the excitement already clear in his voice. “Ketchup! Ketchup is in here… What’s in here? Ketchup? Look at what’s in there! Ketchup is in there.” His reaction is heartwarming and amusing at the same time, and his family seems to agree as they laugh at his reaction.
His aunt Morgan asks him if he likes it and he says, “Yeah!”
Heinz TwitterThe video, which was posted on December 23, 2018, now has 5.3. million views on Twitter, and over 300,000 likes. It blew up so fast that even the official Heinz Ketchup account saw the tweet. They quoted the tweet and said, “When you get your nephew ketchup for Christmas, we throw him a big Heinz’s party for his birthday.”
Then they replied to the tweet: “2019 is bound to be a good year with Sawyer by our side,” they wrote. “DM us, @MorganDeichert. Let’s plan a party.”
Many people have compared Sawyer to another sweet boy known as “The Avocado Kid.” This little boy was also given something strange for Christmas. His present, however, was a joke. A family member wrapped an avocado, but to everyone’s surprise, the boy grinned and said, “An avocado!” in the sweetest tone.
The video ended up going viral, so we’re not surprised that this video, being so similar, got as many views and shares as it did.
