College professors are constantly the subject of tweets that end up going viral. Their students will take pictures of their professors doing something funny, or they’ll share a story of an act of kindness they performed. The tweets never fail to entertain or warm the heart, and the story we’ve brought to you today is about just that: a professor who became the subject of tweets that went viral.

As you can see in the picture above, a college professor is holding a baby. The tweet that comes along with the picture is, “Student came to class today with his child due to no babysitter or anybody to watch her while he was in class. My professor Nathan Alexander said, ‘I’ll hold her so you can take good notes!’”
Let’s get some back story of the touching tweet!
Wayne Hayer is a 26-year-old college student at Morehouse University in Atlanta Georgia, who not only works two jobs but is also the father of five-month-old Assata. His wife usually stays at home to take care of Assata, but on this day, she was unable to do so. She didn’t know anyone who could babysit.
Wayne was sitting in his mathematics class when he received a text from his wife, asking if he could watch Assata. The professor, 34-year-old Dr. Nathan Alexander, has a strict rule against texting, but Wayne explained to him his problem and Nathan shocked everyone with his response.
He told Wayne that he could bring Assata to class with him tomorrow. Wayne took him up on his offer, and the next day, Wayne and Assata went to math class together. However, Dr. Alexander took his kindness one step further and offered to hold Assata so Wayne could focus on taking better notes.
Thus, the picture of Assata strapped to a college professor’s chest, which student Nick Vaughn shared. Nick also said, “Not only did he teach the entire lecture with the child in his arms, but also stayed after class helping those with questions about today’s lecture with the child still in his arms as seen in the pictures.”
The President of Morehouse University, David Thomas, praised the professor for his actions too. He said that it was impactful, the way Dr. Alexander had understood, “that life happens and sometimes there are just no ways around it.”
Dr. Nathan Alexander definitely deserves all the praise he’s receiving!
