When you marry into royalty, you can expect everything to be high profile. Your everyday life from the food you eat, to the clothes you wear to the people you interact with, are spotted by the onslaught of cameras and broadcasted for the world to see. And with a little bundle of joy on the way, you best believe that news like that spreads like wildfire.
An elated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just announced the happy news that they’re expecting their first child in the spring of 2019. After the 12-week visit with the doctor, a scan shows that Meghan and the baby are healthy, and feeling well, as the eager public sits back to await the royal delivery.
As most expecting parents do, when Meghan and Harry first realized they were pregnant, they kept quiet about their good news for the first three months. For most of us, that’s not too difficult to do. But as royalty? Until the time is right to make such a big announcement, you have to be extra careful to not blow your cover. Meghan found very subtle ways to keep her pregnancy hidden. While we might have had an inkling it would happen soon the news still comes as a surprise!
While attending a friend’s wedding in August, Meghan sported a black, flowing shirtdress, a different option for the Duchess than usual. And in a slimming midnight black, no less!
In early September, she donned an electric blue Jason Wu dress that would be pretty form fitting if not for the large ruffles precisely over her torso.
Mid-September, the Duchess was spotted wearing a blue belted top with a layered peplum detail made with a thicker fabric, by Oscar De La Renta.
Furthermore, Meghan was seen wearing “roomier” coats during weather that didn’t necessitate so many layers. For the launch of her charity cookbook, she was seen wearing a bright blue coat with long and wide lapels, perfect for concealment, by Smythe.
And of course, when the Internet perhaps started to raise an eyebrow, was for Princess Eugenie’s wedding in mid-October, days before the announcement. Meghan wore an oversized navy coat by Givenchy.
And what about the former actress’ use of props? It’s impossible to not think that they may have been used to hide a growing baby bump!
Like the use of this large bouquet of flowers;
And the perfectly positioned clutch…
