As a little girl, I was always fascinated with anything that sparkled. In fact, it’s something that’s carried over to today in everything I do. I’ve got sparkly shoes and a matching handbag. I like wearing a few pieces that shine and glitter and sometimes, my nail polish will gleam too!
And, I’ve always got a few crystals and gemstones around. They’re good energy and they’re really pretty to look at. But, they’re usually small, or big enough to carry in one hand. What if you could be surrounded by sparkles and glitter without making a mess or getting it everywhere?
At the Crystal Castle and Shambhala Gardens in Mullumbimby, Australia, founder, and owner, Naren King shares my fascination for crystals and shiny things. Naren is the proud owner of the world’s largest amethyst cave that weighs over 20 tons. It’s called the Enchanted Cave, and it’s incredible. “The Enchanted Cave started its journey as this giant bubble in a lava flow 120 million years ago in Uruguay in South America. It was discovered about four years ago and it seemed impossible to bring it to Crystal Castle in Australia, but we did it.”
Visitors are invited to step inside the cave and hang out for a while, admiring the millions and millions of bright purple crystals that stud the interior of the molten lava cave bubble. There’s lots more to do at this “zenned” out place too, like admire the worlds’ tallest twin smoky quartz geodes; or, stroll around the tropical zen gardens and looking at the many other gemstones and geodes on display. Even the ornate fountain with a spinning rose quartz ball is something that will take your breath away!
There’s plenty to do, but hands down, the piece de resistance is the glittering amethyst cave. Amethyst is known for its meditative and calming qualities. It is tranquil and promotes balance and calmness. Being surrounded by the semi-precious stone improves patience and restores peace. They say a little piece under your pillow promotes a good night’s sleep!
“Crystal Castle is my life’s work. It’s the life’s work of my whole family to create this place of peace and sacredness and nourishment.” And, a never-ending supply of sparkle! I would love to visit this place and set up shop soaking up all the good vibes for an afternoon, how about you?
