There’s no doubt that working as a police officer can be a difficult and stressful profession. It is their job to get up every day and serve and protect their communities, keeping everyone safe and putting their own lives on the line when it is necessary. For a normal citizen, it is hard to imagine what their day-to-day routine looks like when performing their duties.
We know that police officers give tickets, respond to emergency calls, investigate crimes, and apprehend criminals, but according to a recent trend in internet videos, they also spend a fair amount of time dancing and showing off their awesome lip-syncing skills. Police departments from all over the country are producing their own lip-sync videos and challenging other groups of officers to complete the “Lip-Sync Challenge.” Many of these videos are extremely well-done and almost look as if they are professionally produced.
The trend of lip-syncing police officers may have started out as a fun thing between different police departments, but it has become a nationwide phenomenon. Normal citizens can’t wait to see the next video come out, and many of the battle videos are going viral and garnering millions of views on Youtube and social media. Not only is it a lot of fun, but these videos are going a long way to highlight the personalities and positivity of our country’s police departments.
The Norfolk Police Department in Virginia was recently challenged by the Corinth Police Department in Texas in the latest lip sync battle. The officers decided to lip sync and dance to superstar Bruno Mars’ fun song “Uptown Funk.” It’s a fantastic song and great for this informal competition, but it’s the officers themselves who make this an unforgettable Lip-Sync Challenge video.
The fun groups of officers showed off their lip-sync skills and their epic dance moves, and their video went viral almost as soon as it was premiered. There were lip-sync battle videos before this one and more are sure to come, but the one below is going to be hard to beat!
With their popularity, everyone is hoping that their hometown police department will get in on the action. The Norfolk Police Department now has challenged the Seattle Police Department, Norfolk Constabulary, Virginia Beach Police Department, and the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department in the ongoing lip sync battle. I can’t wait!
