We usually think of horses as big, majestic animals. They amaze us with their strength, speed, and grace as they move across the ground. They allow us to climb on their backs and gallop across open fields. They race in the Triple Crown, and winners of races like the Kentucky Derby become sports stars and household names.
Horses jump huge fences in perfectly manicured competition arenas on the way to winning gold medals. They also dance to music in a beautiful sport called Dressage, which resembles ballet for horses and highlights the beautiful connection between horse and rider.
But, the truth is, those are the top athletes of the horse world. Just like in human sports, Olympic competitors, NFL quarterbacks, and international level sports stars are rare and talented beings. Like people, most horses are just horses. They are all talented and special in their way, but they’re never going to be famous.
Unless, of course, you’re an average mini horse and your mom decides to take a video of you throwing a temper tantrum, and that video goes viral.
Beth Rose shared the adorable clip of her miniature horse and wrote, “When it’s snowing, so your human puts your hay inside, but the step is too high, and you are too short. So you throw a temper tantrum.”
Just because mini horses are small does not mean that they don’t have BIG personalities. In fact, it often seems like the smaller the horse, the bigger the attitude. The cute-as-a-button mini horse in the video definitely proves that. It looks like a small step, but the mini horse really doesn’t want to step down — the step may look tiny to us, but it looks huge for this tiny equine.
I like to believe that this little guy is just like us humans. No one likes to go outdoors in the snow when it’s bitter cold and you’d much rather spend snack time with your cocoa, and by the fireplace. Come on, mom! Did you really think the horse would appreciate this? It’s cute how he doesn’t want to have anything to do with the snow. It actually almost makes me laugh!
Ever had your pet throw a tantrum? Tell us about it in the comments, we’d love to read their stories!
