You just can’t break a bond between father and daughter. A young girl looks up to her dad for guidance, love, protection, shelter, and comfort in times of sadness and joy. This reason is why it’s no walk in the park when a young girl has to endure time apart from her father.
This time apart can be for multiple reasons and differs from family to family. Sometimes kids go away to school, leaving mom and dad behind at home and only visiting on the weekends. Other times, in more unfortunate events, a child’s parents don’t live together and they spend time with both mom and dad on separate occasions; this can get difficult if parents decide to move to different states or even worse, change countries. Regardless of the time spent away, dads never cease to be heroes for their kids.
Unfortunately, Kendall Williams, who is a freshman at Erwin High School, has had to spend many months away from her hero, and dad, Dale Williams. You see, Dale is in the military, serving fearlessly for his country. But that still does not take away from the fact that both Kendall and Dale need to be apart for several months out of a year.
But, in the exciting video below, you’ll see a moment where Dale surprises his daughter while she was cheering at a sports event. He meticulously planned a homecoming welcome with Kendall’s school, having them announce his presence while standing behind his daughter. Kendall, undoubtedly, got the absolute fright of her life, experiencing feelings of elation, excitement, and sheer love. You can tell how excited she was to see her dad from the moment she recognizes that he was there to meet her, in the midst of her cheerleading routine! It’s all waterworks, hugs, and kisses after that.
The two then stood beside one another as they sang the national anthem, and it’s safe to say that this was a moment in time many wouldn’t forget anytime soon. Kendall and Dale made a memory that will last them a lifetime. In fact, this homecoming is a great reminder that we should always cherish our nearest and dearest, and that love knows no bounds. What a magnificent moment this was!
