At some point in our lives, we might think about drastically switching up our outer appearance. Often, we come to this realization after a messy breakup, out of boredom with our current appearance, or simply because we feel like we could look a little younger.
While some of us may have the intention to look completely different, when we do get that so-called makeover, we tend to only change one or a few things. It’s typically fear that halts us from going for a look that’s a little more dramatic.
The latter is exactly how Mary felt. She wanted a new appearance, but at the same time, she didn’t feel like she was ready for it. As much as she wanted to merely get an inch or two cut off her hair along with a couple of makeup suggestions, she got brave and decided to travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota to get the ultimate makeover from Christopher Hopkins aka the Makeover Guy.
According to Mary, “I want to stop looking so frumpy and old.” With Hopkins being a long-time expert in hair and makeup, he’d be the perfect person for her to go to!
As a little bit of background on Hopkins, he opened the Hopkins Salon at the KSTP studios in Saint Paul, Minnesota nearly three decades ago. Then in 2017, he opened up one of his latest salons, the Makeover Guy’s Studio where he gives incredible makeovers to people 45 and older.
In a before-and-after video of Mary’s makeover, the woman starts out with wispy hair mixed with different shades of brown and gray and little to no makeup. Although Mary has beautiful features, the look on her face tells us that she’s perhaps bored, tired, and unhappy with how she presents herself. But fortunately for her, the Makeover Guy has something special in mind.
Hopkins decides to turn her ‘do into a blonde pixie He also gives her a neutral lipstick, more defined brows, and dark eyeliner to make her amber eyes pop, along with a few other touches. She looks absolutely stunning!
While it was a huge change, Mary was overall very happy with the appearance. “Growing out my gray hair now is going to be awesome. It’s going to be so easy. I can’t wait. I am so excited,” she says in response to her beautiful, blonde pixie. Just by how her eyes light up, it’s clear she’s very content with her new appearance.
This makeover was not only for Mary but also for her husband, who according to her, absolutely loves her with short hair.
“He’s wanted me to get my hair cut short forever. I mean, he loves me in short hair, and I just keep getting too lazy, ‘No, short hair’s so much work, and no, you gotta use product and all this stuff,’ and I didn’t think I could do this,” Mary says.
I’m positive that her husband will love Mary’s brand new makeover! She deserves to feel stunning inside and out.
