Women Perform Epic Dance Routine At School Pep Rally, Then They Take Their Masks Off

For every exciting, energy-filled school pep rally, there is a lot of planning that went on behind the scenes. Of course, the teachers, coaches, and school staff do plenty to put these events together. The sports teams, cheerleaders, and dance teams also put in their own work and practice.

But, we often forget that behind each of the students participating in a sport, or supporting and competing as a cheerleader or dancer, there are parents. These parents make sure that their kids make it to practice, whether in the evening or early mornings and do countless other things to support their young athletes.

But, these moms of football players at Steele High School took it one step further. They performed a brilliant dance for their sons. “The boys are doing really well this year, and we wanted to something to show our support for them,” April told My San Antonio.

Choreographed by a student, they danced to Silento’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” “iLoveMemphis,” “Hit the Quan,” and other songs.

“My legs were shaky, and it felt like my knees were going to buckle,” mom, Melissa Fields, said. “It was cool to come out of our comfort zone and show support for the boys. If I went to a club right now, I wouldn’t know what to do. I went on YouTube and thought “oh no,” there is no way we would be able to pull this off.”

At first, they were afraid of how their sons would react, but in the end, they were thrilled!

“I think my son’s first reaction was, “You’ve gotta be kidding me – dad, why did you let mom sign up for this,” she said. But once the music cut off, there were hugs all around between the proud boys and their moms.”
