Parents never raise their children expecting the worse to happen. In fact, they are busy building a life for their children that they never had. They want to see them go from elementary school to junior high; then from high school to university or college. Parents want to see their son/daughter find the love of their life, be independent, get their dream job and build their own home. Every parent has such high hopes and big dreams for their child, but sometimes destiny has other things in store.
Becky experienced a parent’s worst nightmare. At just 19, her son Tristan passed away. Like anyone who goes through such a horrible life event, she felt grief and immense pain. But, she continued to move on with her life, pushing through all of the hurt, and even finding the love of her life in the process.
Kelly, the man who she was going to marry, felt the weight of his true love’s pain, and on the most important day of their life together, he did something incredibly special to honor her late son. The fact that he was missing from their beautiful day was understandably difficult. Kelly wanted to ease that burden and sadness as much as he possibly could.
A photo shared by Love Adventured on Facebook, from their wedding day, showed a plaque placed on an empty chair that read: “I’m in heaven for your wedding so what shall I do? I’ll come down to earth to spend it with you. So save me a seat, just one empty chair. You may not see me, but I will be there.”
Amazingly, in a way, Tristan came down from heaven and spent this perfect wedding day with his mother and her new husband. Moments before the ceremony was to begin, it was revealed that there was someone there that Becky needed to meet. She was approached by a young man named Jacob. Thanks to Becky’s generous donation of Tristan’s organs, her son’s heart was beating in Jacob’s chest. She and her son gave him life, so this man came out to do everything he can to comfort Becky on her big day. That day, a piece of her son was there — she even used a stethoscope to listen to his heart.
