If you’re a grandparent, what are some of the things you love to do with your grandchild? And, if you’re a grandchild, what are some of your favorite past times with your gran and gramps? I love taking long walks around the neighborhood with my grandpa. We started this tradition when I was a lot younger, we’d walk all the way to school and all the way back. The two of us would walk along while my grandpa told me old time stories.
Eventually, when I stopped walking to school and started taking the bus, I missed those walks back and forth. So, we made it a point to go out after supper every night and take a stroll. Those evenings are still a part of my favorite memories ever.
Time spent with your grandparents should always be cherished. For me, it’s a moment in time that takes me back to when I was young again, and I would do anything to be 5-years-old, even if it was just for a day. Ha!
Speaking of kids and their grandparents here’s another example of a little girl spending some quality time with her grandpa. 10-year-old Maeve finds a role model in her gramps; he’s 72 years old. She’s a dancer and grandpa is her biggest cheerleader. But, things were about to change really quickly!
When Maeve needed a dance partner for her tap duo performance for the summer recital, she didn’t think twice about asking her grandpa to join her. He was thrilled, of course! But, this also meant that the two would have to put in a lot of dedication and time into perfecting the routine. The pair got right to work! They took classes to choreograph their act and after six lessons, it was time to hit the dance floor.
Although the little girl was nervous, grandpa had definitely left all his nerves at home! He was ready to take on the dance floor like it was no one’s business! And, their routine? It’s needless to say that they killed it! The crowd is loving what they’re watching, and grandpa can dance for a 72-year-old! He’s got the skill!
Maeve is a wonder to watch on her own! She’s a graceful dancer with so much skill and talent. I can see why she chose to pursue dance as a passion!
