As soon as a group of lunch ladies took over the gym floor, they had the audience’s attention from the get-go! The group was dressed in mustard-stained aprons, and sneakers, their backsides packed with stuffing for that plump derriere look. The audience had no idea what they were in for.
As strange as it is to watch a troop of dancing “lunch ladies,” I have to admit, it is pretty creative. And the Hallsville High School Dance Team did an excellent job of putting together a performance that delighted everyone watching! By no means are these women your average lunch ladies!
This drill team put together a routine that combined a bunch of songs including Pussycat Dolls’ “Girlfriend,” plus C+C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat” and Flo Rida’s “Apple Bottom Jeans” and more! This act included a great mix of songs that go far beyond the typical image of a lunch lady.
Their moves are quirky and sassy, a lot of their choreography fast moving and meant to be lighthearted. The crowd is loving their ingenuity, and when mainstream music is replaced with some oldies “yummy, yummy yummy, I got love in my tummy….” to Weird Al’s “Eat It,” you know these girls had a lot of fun bringing this to life. Hopefully, their hard work paid off and won them a few medals in the competition!
