Logger Is Chosen By Baby Deer To Be New Mom

It was just a normal day for this logger, rolling on through the bush to get to his next destination. With the sun shining and his truck loaded up, he was ready to carry out the afternoon when he noticed something that made him stop.

Part of the job is to spend time surrounded by nature, after all, loggers are out in the middle of all kinds of wilderness, energetically tuned in to the nature of the forest. With the array of flora and fauna on any given day, it’s not uncommon to see a few “friends” along the way.

To the side of the road, were not one, but two little fawns, seated on the gravel minding their own business. One was a little farther down the road, but the one closer to the logger took quite a keen interest in him – and let him get very close up, only a few feet away! “What’re ya doing?” he coos, trying to break the ice. Both baby deer look alone and scared, eager for guidance.

The one fawn he got close to suddenly stands up and approaches him, sniffing and cuddling up next to him. The logger is in shock. Laughing and saying, “No, I’m not who you think I am…” The footage he caught is incredible – the baby deer has meandered so near, the markings on the fur are remarkably defined on camera. The fawn seems to have perked up a little, its head held a little higher, and its ears upright and alert.

At this point, the logger can tell he’s been “adopted” as mom and feels like the side of the road is no safe place for young babies, so he gingerly leads as the fawn follows him back into the forest.
