7-Year-Old Violinist Performs “Csárdás”

Do you know what never ceases to amaze us? Child prodigies. Sometimes we’ll go onto YouTube to watch a couple of funny videos, and next thing you know, we’re watching a 5-year-old play Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven to perfection.

In this video, another brilliant child prodigy makes an appearance. Brianna Kahane was a 7-year-old girl who played the violin like a professional adult who’s been playing the violin for 25 years. Brianna performs “Csárdás,” which was written by Italian composer and violinist Vittorio Monti in 1904, on her 1/4 size violin.

Accompanied by the piano, Brianna stands on the stage and proves to everyone how talented little kids really are as she starts playing her small violin beautifully right away. You can clearly see the passion in her eyes, which is something that you would never expect from such a small human.

As she plays, her eyes are closed, and she’s either looking extremely focused or has a smile on her face as she plays the faster notes. Throughout the whole performance, she sways back and forth and loses herself in the song.

It seems that there was no skill that she didn’t have. Between her movement of the bow, the vibrato, and moving her little fingers quickly between all four strings, she sounded flawless. But, it’s the obvious emotion and passion that she has behind her playing that leaves you speechless.

Brianna was able to memorize the almost 5-minute piece at such a young age because, “By the age 4, Brianna was exhibiting expert fingerwork and a photographic memory,” said Crain’s New York Business.

Once the song ends and her playing come to a stop, you only want to listen again.

The sound that this little girl is able to produce is absolutely amazing. I can only imagine how much time and practice went into this performance. Her confidence is also commendable — not a lot of 7-year-olds can get on stage, face so many people, and be able to deliver what they promised! It takes guts!
